Part 1

It had only been a day since the gang’s most recent encounter in sector 5 with X.A.N.A. and things were beginning to intensify in the lives of the young heroes. But to one Odd Della Robbia, the struggle against the possessed virus was the last thing on the svelte teen’s mind.

As he lay in his room, Odd couldn’t help but become wrapped up in the fact that the very girl he had been talking with via his online chat had in fact been the epitome of his, as well as the Lyoko Warriors’ misery… Sissi Delmas.

"I can’t believe it was her this whole time," he thought to himself. "Who would have ever guessed that someone so shallow and petty, could actually be romantic and… well… similar to me."

(Flashback)

As walked down the campus grounds with Jeremie’s laptop in hand, Odd couldn't wait to finally meet the girl he had been chatting online with over the last couple of days. It may have only been a short time, but the blonde Italian teen was surprised to see just how much he and this mystery girl had in common.

Not only did they attend the same school, but they even had similar classes with each other. They even enjoyed a good romantic poem here and there, and enjoyed listening to dance and electronic music that had a beat you can dance to. Just the very thought of dance music gave Odd visions of dancing with this girl of his dreams.

However, those dreams immediately came to a halt as he stepped onto the main campus grounds and bore witness to just who this mystery girl was… none other than the principal’s daughter herself… Sissi Delmas.

“I don’t believe this,” he muttered to himself as he hid behind a tree.

“So Odd,” said Ulrich walking in his direction. “Your fantastic girl, what’s she like?”

Looking from behind the tree again, Odd turned his head back to Ulrich and said, “Umm… surprising.”

Ulrich became just as shocked as he noticed the diva of Kadic Academy awaiting her online Romeo to arrive.

As he noticed Herve and Nicolas coming to talk to Sissi, Ulrich let out a slight laugh, making Odd blush out of sheer embarrassment over the scene unfolding.

Suddenly, noticing Odd and Ulrich staring, Sissi said, “What’s the matter with you? You act as if you never saw me before.”

“Not like that…” said Odd to himself.

(End Flashback)

Throwing a foam ball up in the air, Odd contemplated whether or not he wanted to tell Sissi the truth that it was him she was talking to.

“I mean, it’s not like I completely hate her,” he said to himself. “I mean, after all, she has helped us out a few times when we needed it most, so she’s not completely mean. And I guess she does have her kind moments, when it suits her.”

Odd then got up from his bed, and walked over to the window. Looking out at the grounds below, he noticed a familiar figure sitting against the tree. It was Sissi writing in what appeared to be her diary, which surprised the teen hero a bit, if only at the thought of what she may be writing.

“And, come to think of it,” he continued, preparing to utter some words he thought he never would say, “Sissi is… well… actually kinda beautiful.”

Taken aback by his own words, Odd said, “Whoa, did I actually say that?”

Suddenly, unaware of his surroundings, the blonde heard another voice said, “You most certainly did.”

Knowing exactly who it was that was behind him, Odd was reluctant to turn around, but eventually faced the music and prepared for his best friend to deal some heavy laughter at him.

“How much of that did you hear?” he asked nervously.

“Pretty much all of it,” replied Ulrich throwing his backpack on his bed.

Letting out an exasperated sigh, Odd said, “Alright, fine. I admit it, I guess I’m okay with the fact it was Sissi on the other end of our chat.”

Like a parrot, Ulrich repeated, “You’re… okay with it?”

“Well…” said Odd. “Yeah, I am. In fact, I guess, maybe I don’t hate her as much as I thought I did.”

Confused by his words, Ulrich sought clarification and asked, “So, are you saying what I think you’re saying?”

After a hanging his head in an awkward silence, Odd looked up and said, “I think I am. I think… I think I like Sissi.”

Surprised that he was hearing such a heavy admission from his best friend, Ulrich couldn’t help but think that maybe this wasn’t such a bad situation. After all, both were surprisingly similar in that they always offset each other when insulting one another, and for some reason, always were around each other, if not just because she pined for his attention. And, quite frankly, both of them were passionate about the things they loved, even it wasn’t necessarily important things.

Suddenly, Ulrich had another other important thought came to mind; maybe having Sissi be a part of their gang could provide them a couple of handy advantages, as selfish as they were. Not only would it give them one more additional helping hand against X.A.N.A. (considering she had originally known about Lyoko in the beginning), but maybe having Odd in her life could get her off his back as he continued to sort out his feelings for Yumi.

Leaning back against the wall where his bed was, Ulrich looked at Odd and said, “Well, if that’s the way you feel, then maybe you ought to do something about it.”

Completely caught off guard by his best friend’s answer, the witty blonde teen said, “Wha? Umm… maybe I heard that wrong, you’re okay with me liking Sissi?”

“Why shouldn’t I be?” he asked rhetorically. “After all, you two are pretty similar to each other. Plus, it might be refreshing to see you both stop insulting each other all the time and finally start being nice to each other.”

Reading a bit into his logic, Odd mentioned the apparent fact that dating her would get her to stop going after Ulrich, to which the Lyoko Samurai shrugged and admitted it might not be a bad bonus.

Finally, after giving the matter some more careful thought, Odd knew in his heart what he had to do, and realized he did care for Sissi and was ready to tell her that he liked her. But rather than just go up to her and tell her, he decided to make his feelings known to her in a special way by telling her when it was just her and him alone under the moonlit sky after everyone had gone to sleep. And what better way to tell her than through the very thing that revealed their chemistry from the start… their online chat.

Hearing his plan, all Ulrich could say is, “Knock ‘em dead Romeo. Hope you get the ending you want.”

As she surfed the web on her laptop, Sissi noticed a familiar “blip” noise appear from behind her web browser window. Just then, she opened up her online chat program that revealed a new message from someone by the name of DiggityDog7.

“Oh awesome, it’s my mysterious match,” she said to herself. “I better see what he’s up to.”

Just then, the raven-haired girl became stunned by what the message read… “‘I can’t stop thinking about you. I want to meet you. Meet me by the bench outside the main office building tonight after 9PM.’ - DiggityDog7.”

“At last,” she thought. “I’m finally gonna get to meet my match!”

It was at that moment Sissi let out a slight squeal at the sheer thought of who her mystery guy could be. Maybe it was Ulrich like she thought, but he was too shy to tell her his feelings in person. Or maybe someone she never knew attended Kadic. Whoever it could be, the girl couldn’t help but feel butterflies in her stomach, and let the mysterious boy know she would be there.

And with that, Sissi closed her laptop and quickly ran off to class feeling too excited to care about what went down in classes, with all care set aside for a night she would never forget.
Boy has it been one crazy ride these last few months. With the craziness at work picking up, as well as the Timbers set to take the playoffs stage, or even finally getting ready to move into my new apartment, life is once again at it full-swing. That having been said though, am definitely glad to get back to doing something I enjoy a lot... fanfic writing.

However, in a slightly different twist, I decided to dive into writing a short three-part story revolving around a particular ship from Code Lyoko that was never developed (more likely due to distaste for the two having any form of relationship at all)... Odd and Sissi. As many recall in the episode "Dejâ-Vü" Odd spends his time chatting online with a girl who just so happens to attend Kadic Academy like him. However, unbeknownst to him, the girl on the other end turns out to be none other than Sissi, which leads to Odd being shocked at seeing a different side to the principal's daughter.

For this story, I decided to play on the aftermath of what happened once Odd discovered this little secret. While Odd contemplates whether or not he truly feels something for Sissi, the enemy of our heroes decides to try and figure out who her mystery guy is. With shocking revelations and fluff-stuffed moments, I think you'll enjoy this story. :)

And so, without further ado, let's start off the fun with Part 1 of a short story I like to call "Digital Love."

Enjoy! Comment on what you think, as I hope to return back to fanfic writing again, and am seeking motivation to put together the closing chapters of Never Too Young.

Note: I do not own Code Lyoko, nor any of it's characters, settings, or stories. Code Lyoko appears courtesy of Moonscoop Productions and Taffy Entertainment.

At first, I thought "what the heck are you thinking?" But then, I can KINDA see this being a thing.
